Robert Arthur Tveite died after a fatal fall on the Eliot Glacier while hiking the northeast slopes of Mt. Hood on January 27th, 2025. He loved exploring Portland on foot or bike. He found contentment and joy when hiking the Oregon mountains and challenging himself to greater ascents.
Robert was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on January 29, 1986. He is survived by his parents, John and Pat, sister Molly and brother Chuck (Nicole). Uncle Robert's favorite niece, Scout, will miss him very much.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to these worthy search and rescue organizations: the Crag Rats (cragrats.org) and Portland Mountain Rescue (pmru.org).
The Tveite family is grateful for the Hood River Sheriff's Department and these volunteer search and rescue organizations.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center • 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031. Visit www.AndersonsTributeCenter.com to leave a note of condolence for the family.

I worked closely with Robert at TOK and he was liked by all. Although quiet and mostly a listener, he always found ways to make all of us laugh. He had a great knowledge of shows, movies and games. He was in-touch with all the funny things going on in the world, and had great insight into the more difficult social happenings going on. Me and him would go back and forth every morning cracking jokes, or discussing how we wasted our evenings watching TV, or sitting around. In the 4 years I've been at TOK, he's the only person I spent time with outside of work. His passing is incredibly tragic, and he will be missed immensely. My condolences to all of the Tveite family. He always spoke highly of both his siblings and parents. RIP. - Adam Salhin
