Robin Ramsey Obituary
Robin Gail Ramsey, 63
Robin Gail Ramsey, 63, of West Portsmouth, died June 27, 2025, at SOMC Hospice. She was born, in Portsmouth, on November 24, 1961, to James, who survives and late Gail (Bertram) Welch. Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Brian R. Ramsey; a special niece, Amanda J. Welch; her brother-in-law, Dwayne Conley; and a great nephew, Zsailynn Conley.
She dedicated her life to being a loving mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment she could spend with her family. Her warmth extended beyond her home through her work as a cook at Hillview Retirement Center, where she not only shared her passion for cooking but also formed meaningful connections with the residents she served. A devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes, she took great pride in cheering on her favorite teams.
Along with her father, Robin is survived by her significant other, Tom "Goose" Gray; 2 sons, Brian James "BJ"(April) and Travis Shane (Emilia Ramsey-Salmons) Ramsey; a daughter, Kristi (Shane Shortridge) Ramsey; 8 grandchildren, Ryan (Ali) Pierce, Devon (Brittany) Pierce, Jason (Katelynn) Barker Jr., Austin Ramsey, Lizzie Ramsey, Alex Shortridge, Andrew Shortridge, and Shaiden Shortridge; 4 great-grandchildren, Daxton Pierce, Jacklynn Warner, Avery Pierce, and Brian Pierce; 2 brothers, Jim (Jane) and Scott (Celeena) Welch; a sister, Juetta Conley; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to SOMC Hospice for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SOMC Hospice in her memory.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor RIck Clark officiating and burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service on Wednesday. Condolences and donations may be sent to rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
