Rodney Dale Moberg, age 74, of Moorhead, Minnesota passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 1, 2025 in his home surrounded by family.
Rodney was born July 29, 1950 at home in Barnesville, Minnesota to Adolph Bud and Gladys (Olson) Moberg.
He grew up and attended school in Barnesville. He helped his Dad with a milk truck route and was involved helping with the family business Moberg's Motel & Cabins. He also learned to work on cars and build things from his Dad.
He worked in the construction field for many years at Gateway Builders, Industrial Builders and for a while had his own company Northway Builders. He was also part of the team that built the Fargodome and Scheels Arena. He retired a few years ago from his construction career as a Project Superintendent at Olaf Anderson Construction.
He married Carol Jean Schauer on July 15, 1972 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Barnesville, Minnesota. Together they raised their three boys; Rodney Jr., Jason and Jeremy.
Rodney enjoyed scrapping metal, fixing stuff and building things. He knew how to repurpose material and always took pride in doing everything himself. He never hired anything out. He loved restoring old vehicles, including his Dad's 1949 GMC pick up and his Canadian built 1954 Ford Mainline. He always liked that it had a flathead V8. He also loved music, playing guitar, traveling and spending time with family with whom he was very proud. We will miss his great smile and good sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Moberg; Three sons: Rodney Moberg Jr. Moohead, Jason (Missy) Moberg, Superior, Wisconsin, Jeremy (Samantha) Moberg, Buffalo, ND; Two grandchildren, Sid Moberg, Olivia Moberg, One sister, Sue (Jim) Lindlauf of Grand Forks, ND; One brother-n-law, Bob Mork of Barnesville, Minnesota, One niece and Goddaughter DeAnne (Shane) Ertelt of Barnesville, MN, three nephews, Dana (Christi) Moberg, Steve (Christina) Mork both Barnesville, Minnesota and Carl (Bre) Lindlauf, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Plus many other great nieces and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his sister Gloria Mork, parents Gladys and Adolph Bud Moberg and grandparents. A private celebration of life service will be held at West Funeral Home in West Fargo. Burial will be in the Barnesville City Cemetery, Barnesville, Minnesota.
Memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
