Roger Talmadge Powell, 74, of 830 Denny Store Rd., Roxboro, died Friday, March 7, 2025. Born in Person County, Mr. Powell was the son of the late Joseph Talmadge and Edna Earl Vaughan Powell. Mr. Powell was the service manager at Goodyear Tire Center and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of racing and motorcycles. Mr. Powell was also preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Patricia Stone Powell; three children, Angela Stroud (Richard), Stephanie Paredes and Mandy Hutchinson (Brandon); three step-children, Sandy Moore, Janie Martin and Christie Parham; one brother, Curtis Wayne Powell; one sister, Wanda Powell Snead (Charles); four grandchildren and eleven step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, March 9, 2025 at New Beginnings Baptist Church by the Pastor Chad Benefield. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-3PM Sunday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Long, Kenny Cooke, Dennis Kradel, Sandy Moore, Bryan Powell, Brandon Hutchinson and Harvey Burch.
Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3192, Roxboro, NC, 27573.
