Roger James Wilson, of Anita, IA, passed away at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, NE on May 28, 2025, at 75 years, 1 month and 16 days old. He was born in Atlantic Iowa to Reid and Margret (Eden) Wilson on April 12, 1950, the oldest of 6. He graduated from Atlantic High School in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Army directly after school.

Roger was united in marriage to Cecilia (Daniels) on April 15, 1971 and from that union came three children. Roger worked for many years at Boar Power hauling hogs. After retirement he spent his time frequenting the local libraries and volunteering at schools and nursing homes to help educate about tarantulas. You could often find him in his chair reading a book, doing a word search or a sudoku puzzle. But his true joy was watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids grow.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Cecelia of 54 years; children John (Epril) Wilson, Tina (Todd) Killion, Jim (Gina) Wilson, Caleb (Brandi) Stegner; grandchildren Nick (Sarah), Trina, Hailey, Spencer, Aurora, Autumn, Kaden, Ursula, Anastasia, Zander and Zayda; great grandchildren Liam, Vader, Jack, Edison, Hollyn, Lennon and Ella; siblings Mary (Rolly) Pitzer, Jeff (Patti) Wilson, Kim (Gary) Peterson, Kathy (Bill) Claussen, and Pam (Jon) Jordan; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents Reid and Margret Wilson.

A Celebration of life gathering will be held Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1 pm to 5 pm at Keystone Park in Anita Iowa. Memorials can be directed to the Malan Syndrome Foundation and the Humane Society and left of mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home at PO Box 523 - Atlantic, IA .
