Ronald "Big Ron" Eugene Peardon, 77, of Jasper, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025.
A servant of the Lord, devoted husband, loving father, honored soldier, respected colleague and cherished friend were but a few titles held by this great man. His love of God, quiet strength and selfless nature shaped the very foundation of his still growing family.
If Big Ron wasn't out driving along the "Dragon's Tail" on his big red Honda motorcycle with his wife wrapped on his back, then you may have found him laid back with his little dog Daisy reading one of his many books checked out from the Jasper Public Library. Along with reading he loved westerns, the outdoors and cheering from the stands at a Grandbabies' ballgame.
Ron proudly served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War 1968 – 1970. He loved this country and took great pride in the honor of being called Veteran. He was rarely seen without a hat or shirt proudly representing the United States of America and its armed forces.
Above all Ron leaves behind a legacy of love of his family. His strong work ethic and endless desire to be of service to others made him an ideal father and being a grandfather "Pop" fit him like a glove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Ruby Peardon and his brothers Jimmy and Clifford Peardon.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Brenda (Peanut) Payne Peardon; sons, Ronnie (Lisa) Peardon, Josh (Bridgett) Peardon, Wes Peardon; daughter, Brittany (David) Church; grandchildren, Paisley (Garrett) Raulston, Alisha Peardon, Christa Peardon, Pryce Peardon, Avalon Peardon, Brodie King, Brooklyn King and Bryleigh Kilgore.
Funeral services to celebrate and honor Ron will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. (CDT) at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, TN, with Pastor Ronnie Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee, with full military honors by The Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honor Guards.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CDT) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.
Pallbearers are Brian Hatfield, Sam Curtis, Jeff Peardon, Greg Peardon, Matt Peardon, Chris Frost, Ryan Frost and Don Shoemaker.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jerre Keef, Thomas "Nick" Choate, Charlie "Cowboy" Callaway, George Allender, Vern Webb and Butch Murray.
Ron's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ron's memory to the Jasper Public Library or to The Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honors Guards.
