Ronald (Ron) David Archer 65, passed away on April 27, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 12, 1960, to Doyle and Lois Archer (Sansom) at Norton County Hospital, Norton, Kansas. Ron was welcomed home to the family farm by his three older siblings. Later, he proudly became a big brother to five more siblings. As Ron often fondly recalled, it was his sisters who “ran the roost” as they grew up together.

Ron attended Densmore Elementary School for kindergarten before continuing his education in Logan, where he graduated from Logan High School in 1978. After high school, he went straight to work in the oil field before eventually partnering with his brother Bob, and becoming the fourth generation to continue the Archer Farm by starting Flying A Farms. If you knew Ron, you knew that aside from his kids and grandkids, being in the swather was his happy place. Along with farming, Ron was an avid hunter and a devoted steward of the land he loved.

In 1993, Ron married Lisa Archer (David) at the First United Methodist Church in Logan, Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with three children, and later three grandchildren who became the light of his life.

Ron is survived by his children: Lane David Archer and his wife Destinee of Hutchinson, Kansas; Kristy Erin Rogers and her husband Lane of Beaver City, Nebraska; and Chase Alan Archer and his fiancé Ian of McPherson, Kansas. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Paisley Sue Rogers, Ryker David Archer, and Rowdy Lance Rogers, and baby boy Rogers who is being welcomed in September. Ron’s grandchildren brought endless joy and pride to his life. There wasn’t a time he wasn’t smiling ear to ear about his grandbabies. Ron is survived by his parents, Doyle and Lois Archer, and by all his siblings: Virginia, Joann, Bob, Gary, Sandy, Marsha, Nita and Jackie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at 10 A.M. at the First Christian Church in Logan, Kansas, with Pastor Troy Buss presiding. There will be a lunch provided by the church afterwards. In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Ron’s love for his family, the land, and the life he built will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we enter this next chapter without Ron, the family invites you to reflect on your cherished memories with him. A memory book will be available at the service to sign and share your stories, so his grandchildren can grow up surrounded by the love, laughter, and legacy of their Papa.
