Ronald Steven Krueger, known affectionately as Ron, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Columbiaville, Michigan, at the age of 59. Born on January 11, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan.
Ron proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1984 to 1988, a period of his life that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and honor. After his military service, Ron continued to lead a life marked by hard work and commitment, which was evident in his more than two decades as a truck driver for Armstrong Trucking.
On May 6, 2022, Ron married his loving wife, Shawn Cook, in Lapeer. Together, they created a life filled with joy, laughter, and shared passions. Ron was a beloved son to his mother, Elsie "Midge" Krueger, and a cherished brother to Art (Jennifer) Krueger, Keith (Blair) Krueger, and Jodie Krueger. He was a uncle to his nephew, Kyle Krueger, and held a special place in the hearts of his numerous cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Krueger, his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles who had enriched his life.
Ron's interests and hobbies were as expansive as his generous spirit. He was a master at working on his trucks, motorcycles, and his beloved jeep, demonstrating an innate ability to fix and improve anything he set his hands on. An avid reader, Ron had a particular fondness for science fiction, which transported him to worlds as boundless as his imagination. His love for sci-fi extended to the screen, where he enjoyed watching movies and never missed an opportunity to catch an episode of his favorite cartoon, Wiley Coyote.
Ron's home was a haven for animals, and his love for his dogs-Gypsy, Elena, and Sparhawk-and his horses was profound. He had a deep appreciation for wildlife, especially wolves. Ron was known for hosting memorable family barbecues.
An accomplished gunsmith, Ron found peace and focus on target shooting, a hobby that showcased his precision and patience. Although he had traveled extensively across the United States, the only state he hadn't visited was Alaska-a dream that remained with him.
