Ronald L.'Doc' Niemann, 92 of Kimbolton, Ohio passed away on July 1, 2025. He was born on July 9, 1932, in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was rased with love by Theodore Vincent (T.V.) Niemann and Mary Frances (Foreberger) Niemann. He grew up as the eldest of 8 children. Ronald lived his formative years and left his mark as a youth primarily in and around Brooklyn Iowa where he graduated High School in 1951.
Doc served in the United Stated Army from November 1952 to November 1954, during his military time he served overseas in Korea during the Korean Conflict where he reached the rank of Corporal (E-4).
Upon returning from his service to his country he returned to Brooklyn, Iowa. It was here that he began his profession as a truck driver. Doc ultimately retired after 36 years behind a big rig steering wheel. The majority of his millions of miles hauling freight were accumulated with Consolidated Freightways out of Richfield, Ohio. He drove mostly long haul two-man routes to the West Coast and back as well as East to Buffalo New York.
Doc resided in Medina, Ohio during his working years where he raised his family of four children. Doc and his family socialized with families of his trucking coworkers and Army buddies when time allowed between his long work trips. Doc lived in many places, but the majority of his retirement years were spent near Kimbolton, Ohio. This was home base for the remainder of his years. He built a home, survived bi-pass surgery, TRIED to quit smoking and enjoyed tinkering with the life's treasures that he accumulated. He visited family and friends, new and old and occasionally traveled to visit his parents who had retired in Sun City, Arizona.
Doc was a member of the Loyal Order of Aerie Eagles Lodge #224, the Medina Loyal Order of the Moose #647, the Medina VFW Post # 5137, and the Medina Knights of Columbus Council #4168. He and family attended the Saint Francis Xavier Catholic church where his children completed their 1st -8th grade education.
Doc is survived by his children; Tom (Sheryl) Niemann of Medina, Ohio, Chris (Debbie) Niemann of Firestone, Colorado, and Mary Vetomskie of Chillicothe, Ohio; his grandchildren; Thomas L (Pam) Niemann II, Timothy J. (Casey) Niemann, and Jordan (Kacey) Vetomskie; his great grandchildren; Grant & Dalton Vetomskie and Thea Niemann; and his brothers, Theodore John 'Ted' Niemann and Paul Joseph Niemann.
He is preceded in death by his son, Richard L. Niemann and grandson, (Rick's son) Dustin C. Niemann, his parents, and his son-in-law, John J. Vetomskie (Jay).
Doc lived his life on his terms and left this world as he had envisioned peacefully in his home. Doc is now with his mother, fathers, brothers, sisters, relatives, family and friends that have preceded him to the Lords calling. The family will hold a private service honoring his wishes for a private burial at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, donations in his memory be made to the charity/cause of your choosing.
