Ronald Lloyd Penuel, 79, of Moultrie, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Moultrie, with Reverend Matt Peek officiating. Private family interment will be held at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Grandsons, Drew Penuel, Ryan Wallace, Rob Wallace, Alex Penuel, Carter Penuel, Will Penuel, and Adam Webb will be pallbearers. Dr. Horace Chitty, Buster Clements, Durwood Dominy, Danny Dunn, Dr. Thomas Estes, Kenny Hammock, Scott Hart, Frank Henson, Tom Kirbo, Billy Mock, and Bruce Vines will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.

Born on April 16, 1946, in Dothan, Alabama, he was the son of the late Lloyd Fredrick Penuel and Willie Jean King Penuel. He was a licensed contractor. Mr. Penuel was a member of First Baptist Church, Moultrie, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He taught the High School Senior Sunday School Class and completed his service as the director for the Adult Five Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Hatfield Penuel.

Mr. Penuel is survived by his sons, Scott Penuel, and wife Karenina, and Reid Penuel; daughter, Leigh Penuel Wallace all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Drew Penuel, Jordan Penuel, Carter Penuel, Raley Webb, and husband Adam, Ryan Wallace, and wife Annie, Rob Wallace, Alex Penuel, Sophia Penuel, Eliza Penuel, and Will Penuel; great-grandson, Heath Webb; brother, Rex Penuel and wife Ruthie of Ashford, Alabama; and sister, Linda Crawford of Ashford, Alabama; brothers in law, Tommy Hatfield, and wife Gail of Kissimmee, Florida and Mike Hatfield, and wife Cindy of Millsap, Texas; sisters in law Sue McFarland and husband Brian of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kathy Akins and husband Stanley of Portal, Georgia, and Gail Starnes of Conover, North Carolina; and many special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Under the Son, P.O. Box 691, Moultrie, GA 31768.
