Sanders Shoemaker Funeral Care - WaynetownWith heavy hearts, we announce that Ronald Walter Wojtaszek, a beloved brother, uncle, friend, and treasured member of the community, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on February 13, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Ron was the son of the late Walter Stanley and Loretta Constance (Broskow) Wojtaszek and resided in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and Livermore, California.
Ron graduated from Gordon Technical High School in Chicago, Illinois, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in accounting from San Jose State University in California. Ron served as the CFO of Lifeguard Insurance Services in California for many years. He also ventured into the world of winemaking, dedicating years to his dream of owning Coal Creek Cellars Winery in Crawfordsville, a journey fueled by passion and the guidance of winemaker Thomas Coyne. Ron often enjoyed quiet moments on the deck of his winery, a glass of wine in hand, taking in the beautiful valley that felt like home.
Ron was an adventurous spirit with a zest for life. He loved fishing in the serene waters of Alaska, where he had a remarkable talent for catching fish. Whether building something new or taking on a project, he was always engaged with a friendly smile. A true people person, Ron warmed the hearts of everyone he met. He had a knack for finding a great bargain and had an impressive collection of jukeboxes that brought nostalgia and joy to many. His laughter and charm were infectious, and he cherished the connections he made, treating friends like family.
Ron is survived by his brother, Jerry (wife-Susan) Wojtaszek from Texas, as well as a niece and nephew from Texas and a vast circle of friends who will miss him dearly.
As we remember Ron, let us celebrate his life-not just in sorrow, but in the love and laughter he inspired in all of us. Let's keep his spirit alive by sharing our own stories of joy and connection.
Cremation was chosen. There will be a gathering of friends to celebrate Ron's life on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm at The Creekside Lodge, 613 Lafayette Avenue, in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
