Rosa Lynn Peterson Brown, 71, of Orem, passed peacefully into her heavenly home July 1, 2025 at 5:19 pm in West Valley, Utah surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Provo, Utah on October 17, 1953, a daughter of Rosa Lee Ostler Bouchee and William Lynn Peterson. Rosa lived most of her life in Orem. However, she also spent time in Washington, Utah; St. George, Utah; and Maui, Hawaii - places that reflected her love and appreciation of nature.
She loved Christ and strived to follow His example in all she did. Rosa had many talents and passions: as a product representative in the beauty industry for Goldwell, an interior designer for the Park City Olympic Ski Team, a gifted photographer, a humanitarian who worked with Ben Mayianda in South Africa, a supporter of Michiko Hayashi and the Emoto Peace Project, and most importantly, her most loved role as Mom and Nana.
Rosa enjoyed gardening, sunsets, sunrises, bird songs, the calming sounds of the Provo river, hiking Bridal Veil Falls and Timpanogos Cave, and cherished spending time with her family. She loved us all, fiercely and unapologetically. It was beautiful. It was constant. It was, at times, exhausting. We miss every second of it.
Rosa has been reunited in heaven with her parents, her sister, Janet G. Malmstrom, and her brothers Robert B. Gaisford, and James Peterson.
Rosa is deeply missed by her children: Bobby; Monique D. Darling (Nathan and Peter); Heather L. Griffith; Amy D. Dobbs; Aaron C. Brown (Buffy); Jennifer P. Lingafelter (Luke); and Samuel B. Wagstaff (Albeny).
She is also held in the hearts of her grandchildren, including Michael A. MacFarlane, Kalani M. Nihipali, Ronan T. Darling, Riley L. Darling, Kaimana M. Nihipali, Leea R. Alvarez, Nyla D. Valdez, Iker L. Ramos, Armour L. Dobbs, and Aria R. Lingafelter, along with many others.
Rosa is lovingly remembered by her family, Gary Nilsson, Dixie Gaisford, and William J. Peterson.
The family wants to thank the IHC Hospice in Salt Lake County especially Rebekah, Dolores, Hilda, and Christina. The loving Ostler family, Bishop Steve Christensen, and the 6th Ward in Spanish Fork, UT.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 585 N. Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the same location, with interment at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery at 420 S. 400 E. Spanish Fork, UT 84660.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to the funeral services through Venmo @Sam-Wagstaff-2 (preferred) or at https://www.serenicare.com/obituaries/rosa-peterson-brown (donation will remain anonymous).
