Rosalia Mazzacone Obituary

Rosalia (Rose) D. Mazzacone of Woodstock Virginia, formerly of Ossining, NY, died in Woodstock VA., on January 8, 2024. She was 91. Rose was born in Forest City, PA on April 29,1933 to William and Rose Volk Steponaitis. Rose was employed for Nestle Food Company for over 30 years where she worked as an Executive Secretary to one of the Vice Presidents of the company. She was married to her loving husband of 52 years, Raymond Mazzacone, a veteran of WWII who predeceased her in 2005.
She is survived by her daughters Dr. Suzanne Stevens of Edinburg, VA, and Jean Zimmerman and spouse Dr. Robert Zimmerman of Berwyn, PA. A proud grandmother, she is also survived by granddaughters Ashley and Amber, grandsons Daniel and Corey, and a great granddaughter Lilah Rose. She is also survived by her sister Joan Cassidy of Poughkeepsie, NY and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by older sister Sylvia Guidry.
Rose enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. When time allowed, she attended their various extracurricular activities such as dance performances and competitions, motorcycle races and swim meet. She was very proud of their academic and professional achievements. She enjoyed family gatherings for holidays, birthdays, and family barbecues.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16th from 4-8 PM at The Leach & Thomas Funeral Home, 45 S. Highland Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM on Friday, January 17th at the St. Ann's Church. Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Ossining.
