Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Marie "Tiny" Marcantel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie, with Reverend David Plunkett officiating. Interment will follow in Evangeline Memorial Park, Ville Platte, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Marcantel, 81, of Ville Platte, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Houston, Texas.
Rose enjoyed fishing, camping, and of course her favorite was playing Bingo. She devoted her life to raising her children the best she could and always found a way to make every sporting event. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports; just watching grow up has been a great joy to her. Rose always had a heart for others; she loved working in Home Health and taking care of those who needed her. She worked until she just couldn't anymore, yet she planned on returning back to work, even from her hospital bed. Above all, she loved her dog, Daisey, and just wanted to be home to care for her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Ray Marcantel; and her parents, Herbert and Maxine Dougia.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one daughter, Sheila Manuel of Bayou Chicot; four sons, David Marcantel of Bunkie, Russell Marcantel (Nicole) of Pine Prairie, Terry Paul Marcantel of Pine Prairie, and Patrick Wayne Marcantel (Barbara) of St. Landry; one brother, Butch Puckett of Texas; one sister, Jeanie Webb (James) of Texas; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie, on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve are: Billy Marcantel, Peyton Marcantel, Justin Marcantel, Matt Marcantel, Saij Guillory, and Cade Freeman.
