Rosemarie Ann (Arbow) Davis
September 16, 1942 – June 18, 2025
It is with tremendous sorrow to share that our mom, Rosemarie Ann (Arbow) Davis, passed away at home in
Bend, Oregon on June 18, 2025, with her three children present. She was 83.
Most of us know her as "Rosie". Rosie was born in the original St. Charles on Hospital Hill in
Bend, Oregon on September 16, 1942 to James Arbow and Rosemary (Cashman) Arbow.
Rosie cherished her Catholic education by The Holy Name Sisters at St. Francis of Assisi. The St. Francis Parish and community meant the world to Rosie. She went on to Bend High school where she met the love of her life and future husband, Ron Davis. From that moment on, they were inseparable living an amazing, crazy adventure through life at full throttle, meeting so many wonderful friends along the way.
After getting three children into school, Rosie began a court career with Lane County District Court followed by a court supervisor position at the city of Springfield Municipal Court for another 15 years before retirement.
Rosie was loved by everyone who knew her. She always helped everyone and always put others first. Rosie was quiet, never drawing attention to herself, but stronger than she ever gave herself credit for. There was such strength in Rosie from pulling crab pots rapidly up and away from the docks, water skiing off the docks in her blue jeans, or turning strong men's knuckles white while water dowsing to locate water underground for wells.
In her early years, with a young family, she loved harvesting nuts, fruits, and blackberries to can from the orchards across the road. She pulled nature from the outside to decorate her home in a beautiful way. Rosie loved to paint; she would use river rocks, old, rusted saws, and really anything she could find to recycle.
Rosie dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook, hostess, and loved to entertain friends with Ron. She loved crafts, crocheting, playing the piano and organ, crabbing, fishing, and gardening. She loved travelling in the winter months to Arizona and spending time at the Oregon coast and local hot springs.
Rosie was a lifelong member of the Catholic church. Her deep devotion and faith were with her throughout her beautiful, well-lived life of kindness, compassion, and service to others.
Rosie is survived by her three children: Cheryl Althoff (Don) of Eugene, Susan Brouillard of Bend, and Michael Davis of Bend. She leaves behind four granddaughters - Jessica Althoff, Katherine Glaeser (Chris), Tess Brouillard, and Audrey Davis – and three great-granddaughters – Ariana Veltman, McKenzie Glaeser, and Madison Glaeser.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Davis, and granddaughter, Savannah Brouillard.
Rosie's funeral mass was at the historic St. Francis Catholic church in Bend. Niswonger-Reynolds funeral home oversaw arrangements. You may contact Rosie's children to view the mass online. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Catholic church in
