Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory - HaysRosemary Bunker Wickham, age 85 of Hays, KS passed away on Saturday June 28, 2025, at Hays Medical Center – Hays.
She was born November 27, 1939, in Ellis County to George F. Bunker and Agatha (Wolf) Bunker. She married Robert E. Wickham on January 9, 1960, in Hays, KS.
She graduated from Girls Catholic High School in 1958. She went on to get her bachelor’s degree at Fort Hays State University in Home Economics and was a registered dietitian. She worked at Hadley hospital for many years and at St. Anthony Hospital in the nursing department, American Cancer Society, Blind services, Area on Aging and before her retirement KETCH for disabled people.
Rosemary was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church – Hays.
She enjoyed time with her kids, grandkids, great grandkids. She loved holidays, especially Halloween pumpkin carving, and dying Easter eggs. She loved family gatherings and was a great German cook. She loved to play the piano and sing and dance. She was the best spouse, mom, grandmother, great grandmother. Her legacy of compassion, grace and deep love for her family will live on through all who were blessed to have known her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Rosemary is survived by her husband Robert of the home, her children: Carrie Sutton and husband Jeff of Buhler, KS; Connie Linenberger and husband Gerold of Hays, KS; Robert J. Wickham and wife Linda of Hays, KS; Michael T. Wickham and wife Gail of Hays, KS. Seven grandchildren: Anthony (Tony) Linenberger and wife Kathleen of Hays, KS; Tyler Sutton and wife Leesa of Bates City, MO; Emily Alamo and husband Erick of Hutchison, KS; Rusty Wickham and wife Katie of Colorado; Copeland Wickham and wife Ember of Hays, KS; Zane Wickham and significant other Whytney of Hays, KS; and Carissa Pfeifer and husband Dexter of Olathe, KS. 15 Great grandchildren: McKenzie, and Macie Linenberger, Derrick, Elleigh, Wyatt Alamo, Roman Sutton, Nora, and Navy Pfeifer, Laytyn and Layney Wickham, Elayna, Alloraha, and Zariah Wickham, and Gracelynn, and Madelyn Wickham.
She was preceded by her parents: George F. Bunker and Agatha (Wolf) Bunker, her stepfather: Samuel Hayton, Brothers: George, Eugene, William (Bill), Robert, Eddy, Tom and infant brother Samuel, Sisters-in-law: Vernea, Betty, Freda, and Glennis, and her granddaughter: Corie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 215 West 13th Street Hays, Kansas 67601. Inurnment will follow the services in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery – Hays.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital, The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, and/or The Area on Aging, in care of the Funeral Chapel.
