Ross Gusman, 86, of Ovid, Colorado, entered into eternal life on July 14, 2025, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.
Ross was born on August 30, 1938, in Brule, Nebraska, to Benancio and Stella Gusman. He spent much of his life in Ovid, Colorado, where he built a strong community and family ties.
Ross married Nora Garcia on May 22, 1956, and together they built a life rooted in family and faith.
Ross's life was marked by his love for his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being outside, working in his shop, gardening, and took great pride in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Gusman; his parents; his son, Ross Gusman Jr.; his siblings, Joe Gusman and Annie Jimenez; and sisters-in-law, Magda Contreras and Elsa (Ralph) Davila; brothers-in-law, Saul Nuncio, Jose Ojeda.
Ross is survived by his children, Bob Gusman, Nora Pearl Best, Moses Gusman, and Kathy Nail; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Nancy Ojeda, Martha (Gonzalo) Varela, Amalia Johnson, and Pete Gusman; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Viola Cortez, Yolanda Nuncio, Elizabeth (Gene) Conroy, Naomi (Dennis) Rivera; brothers-in-law, Ezekiel Contreras, David (Pat) Nuncio, Sam (Reynalda) Nuncio, and Pepe Jimenez; along with many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Ovid Cemetery on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Larry Nail.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 4 to 6 pm at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Julesburg.
A memorial has been established in Ross's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
