Roy Otis Campbell, 76, of Clarita, Oklahoma, passed away on September 20, 2025. Roy was a devout member of the Clarita Methodist Church for the past 30 years and was the son of Annie and Roy Otis Campbell. He was born and raised on the family farm-a place that instilled in him a deep love for the land and the values of hard work and humility.

Roy was a man of many roles: a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, farmer, educator, coon hunter, friend, and a child of God. He found joy in the simple things-watching the OKC Thunder and Texas Rangers, mowing the lawn, working the land, hunting, and especially watching his grandchildren play ball. He married his beloved wife, Deloris, on May 26, 1972, at the Tupelo Pentecostal Holiness Church and together they built a life grounded in hard work, community, and family. In his 40s, Roy accepted Jesus into his heart, and from that point on, he was a faith-driven man who loved Jesus deeply.

After graduating from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1971, Roy began his teaching and coaching career at Olney Public Schools in 1972, where he had the unique honor of coaching his own brother. Roy dedicated 36 years of his life to the education field, while serving in Olney, Wapanucka, Coalgate, and Stonewall Public Schools, where he remained until his retirement in 2009. Roy was a respected educator and mentor who left a lasting impression on countless students, staff, and families.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Deloris Campbell; his children: Laurel Molini and husband Levi of Owasso, Kelly Campbell and wife Heather of Clarita, and Valerie Johnson and husband Jared of Allen; his brother Eddie Campbell of Clarita; his sister Betty Strickland; and seven grandchildren: Layney, Leighton, and Lexi Molini, Ellie and Kage Campbell, and Jovee and Rookee Johnson. They were the light of his life. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Campbell; his father, Otis Campbell; and his sister, Barbara Keeley.

A celebration of Roy's life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 2:00PM at the Browns Funeral Chapel in Coalgate. Graveside services will follow at Moore Cemetery located in Clarita. Pallbearers are Mike Thompson, Mike Nelson, Gary Bolin, Chris Collins, Howard Ables, Mark Echelle, Allen Stonecipher and Gary Starns. Honorary pallbearers are Chief Roebuck, Chris Lott, Marlin Lee, Jim Faubion, Allen Hicks, Larry Davis, David Battles, Wayne Blue and Tim Brown.

Roy's life was one of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for those around him. You could find him on the lawnmower, tractor, or coon hunting with his son. His legacy will live on in the family he raised, the students he taught, and the land he cherished.
