Roy Capps, age 74, of Locust Grove, Georgia, departed this life and entered the presence of Jesus on Monday, July 21, 2025. Born on December 24, 1950, in Pensacola, Florida, Roy was the son of the late Allen Capps and Mary Frances (Ennis) Capps Thames. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Allen Lee "Shorty" Capps and Robert "Bobby" Capps, and a sister, Frances Cameron.

Roy was a man defined by quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and a heart for others. He spent his career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked as an electrician on the line. His work ethic was unmatched, the kind you don't often see anymore. His ability to fix anything, especially a car, was nothing short of legendary and tinkering was his favorite pastime.

Roy was married to his wife, Gail, for 50 years. Together, they built a life rooted in love and loyalty. He raised not only his daughter from the age of three, but also his goddaughter, with the same steady hands and kind heart that he offered to anyone in need.

To know Roy was to have a friend. He never met a stranger, and those who knew him were blessed by his generosity, kindness, and wisdom. Whether he was lending a hand or sharing a story, he left people better than he found them.

He leaves behind his wife, Gail Hunt Capps; daughters, Nikki (Dwayne) Rogers Lenning and Kayla (Steven Dennis) Barronton; grandchildren, Ryan Rogers, Josh Rogers, and Brady Rogers; siblings, Kenneth "Kenny" Capps, Harvey Capps, Michael "Mike" Capps, Richard "Ricky" Capps, Glenda Morgan-Black, and Penny Cooley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caring For A Cause, the nonprofit founded by his daughter, Nikki. It was a mission he was deeply proud of and supported with his whole heart.
