Mack Brogden, 74, of Franklin, NC, passed away surrounded by family he loved so dearly.
Mack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Brogden; their three children, Lorrie (husband Mike Contino), Ericka, and Dustin (wife Chrissy Ledford); his grandchildren, Abby, Heidi, and Cole and his brother, Rick Brogden. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Zena Pearl Brogden.
A lifelong member of Cowee Baptist Church, Mack’s faith was a guiding light in his life. He and Linda went on several mission trips with his church, where they made balloon animals creating lots of happiness. He loved his church, his community, and above all, his family.
Mack was always involved in the lives of his children. He never missed any event his kids were part of. He coached Little League for over 20 years, was a Boy Scout leader, and always gave his time and heart to help shape young lives.
He was manager of Electric Supply for over 20 years, then worked at Lowe's up until retirement. He became known for his incredible ability to build and fix just about anything. Later in life, he began woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces that will be treasured for generations. Mack also had a love for baking and enjoyed sharing his homemade treats with family and friends. He loved spending time in his gardens and flower beds and always had a project in the works.
After retiring, Mack cherished his mornings with the men’s coffee group at Franklin Discount Furniture. He was a longtime member of the Freemasons and came from a deeply rooted family. Both the Brogden and Rickman families have called Franklin home for many generations.
His loyal dog, Little Jack, was always by his side and brought him great comfort and companionship.
Mack’s steady presence, kind spirit, and deep love for his family, church, and community will be missed more than words can say.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Cowee Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Branson and Rev. Chris Cuifo officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
