Roy Marvin Mersiovsky, age 93, of Electra, Texas, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, May 18, 2025 in Electra.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Pavilion in Electra Memorial Park. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Roy was born March 25, 1932 in Jarrell, Texas to the late Walter Ernest Mersiovsky and Alma Annie Boriack Mersiovsky.
He grew up in Electra where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Frances Gilbert. They were married May 20, 1952, in Frederick, Oklahoma and celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage before her passing on August 23, 2019.
Roy started school in the First Grade and had to learn English, as his family all spoke German.
He worked at NATCO in Electra for many years before his retirement. Although he had a job in town, his favorite job of all times was working on the farm. Farming was Roy's hobby and he enjoyed nothing more. You could rarely find Roy inside. He spent the majority of his time outside enjoying God's creation.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Freeland and husband, Roger, Susan Anderson and April Shelley and husband, Harrold, all of Electra; one son, Scott Mersiovsky and wife, Mary of Electra; one sister, Patsy Jackson of Hennessey, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Merisovsky and wife, Judy of Graham; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Roy was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Charlie Anderson.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to the church of your choice.
