ROY CLARENCE PHILLIPS
Roy "Doc" Clarence Phillips was born on June 22, 1932, to Clarence and Lora (Harris) Phillips in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He was called to his heavenly home on April 14, 2025, at his home in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, at the age of 92.
Roy graduated from Fort Cobb High School and then went into the United States Army, proudly serving from 1953-1955.
He married Rachel Leilani Broyles in 1957 and to this union was born three children; Jo Carol, Elizabeth and David Roy. They celebrated thirty-six years together before her passing in 1993.
In 1995, Roy found love and companionship again in Maragaret Miles. They have shared the last thirty years together.
Roy had his hands in a lot of things through his working life. In 1955, he drove truck for Haliburton, in 1960 he helped with pipeline and assisted in building the dam at Fort Cobb State Park. He was a custom harvester for 32 years. One year he did a huge harvest run from Fort Cobb to Canada.
Roy loved his cattle and he faithfully cared for them up until December of 2024. Roy liked to be a prankster and loved the giggles that brought. His greatest love was his family and he lives for every moment he was able to share with them.
Left to cherish the memory of Roy is his companion, Margaret Miles of the home, son, David Phillips and wife LaDonna of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, daughters, Jo Carol McMillin and husband Kenneth of Bartlesville, Oklahoma Elizabeth Diane McMillin and husband William, one sister, June Eggleston of Wichita Falls, Texas, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rachel Phillips, sister Phyllis Evans.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. Graveside services for Roy are set to begin at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery located in Elgin, Oklahoma.
