He was born on August 1, 1978 in Chiapas, Mexico to Ruben Gonzalez Ambrocio and Neptali Velasquez De Gonzalez. He was a member of the Baxley Hispanic Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Ruben was always friendly and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arael Gonzalez Velasquez and Abigael Gonzalez Velasquez.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Birzabit Eliel (Fabiola) of Lyons; four sisters, Celia Luz Gonzalez Velasquez (Lisandro) of Mexico, Donurelia Gonzalez Velasquez of Mexico, Rosalinda Gonzalez (Armando) of Lyons, and Blanca Flor Gonzalez (Oscar Espinoza) of Lyons; eight nephews, Maynor, David, Oscar, Michael, Randy, Armando, Alan, and Fabian; and five nieces, Roxana, Leslie, Betzaida, Aranza, and Ashley.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Roberts – Stewart Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm following the visitation on Saturday in the chapel of Roberts – Stewart Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will follow at Lyons City Cemetery.
