Ruby Nell Lewis-Bagaas, 90-year-old Langley resident, passed into Heaven's Halls to meet her Lord and Savior, Yeshua the Messiah, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Saint Francis Vinita Hospital, with her loving husband by her side, though not communicating on this Terra Firma. Born on September 7, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, Texas to George Wesley Patrick and Jessie Ola (Fields) Patrick. Ruby grew up and went to school in Daingerfield, Texas. She was a missionary and traveled to the Philippines, Burma, working with Wycliffe Bible Translators as support staff. Ruby was a real fellowship connector and was sharp as a tack when it came to details and old-time and current events.

Her loving family includes her husband Duane Bagaas of the home, her son, Phil Lewis and wife Kathy of Tacoma, Washington, sisters, Nadine Touchstone of Shreveport, Louisiana, Virginia Killebrew of Tyler, Texas, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents George Wesley Patrick and Jessie Ola Patrick both in 1974, two sisters, Dorothy Bodenheimer and Doris Elrod; daughter, Patti Hullum in 2022, and a brother Donald Ray Patrick in 2010.

The viewing will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 245 County Road 4340, Mount Pleasant Texas 75455, a celebration of life will follow at 2:00 p.m. after the service will be a time of fellowship until 4:30 p.m. The interment will take place at the Center Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally family owned and operated funeral home."
