Ruth Quattlebaum Bedgood, 89, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Waverly Hall, GA. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Parkhill Cemetery with Chap. Kenneth Wilcox and Rev. Travis Rigsby officiating.
Ruth was born March 27, 1936 in Dothan, AL daughter of the late Johnnie Quattlebaum and Irene Tanton Quattlebaum. She was a longtime member of Kirkland Baptist Church
Other than her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius “Billy” Bedgood; her siblings, Laura Mae Brookins, Nellie McNeil, Lonie Wilkes, Vester Quattlebaum, Chester Quattlebaum, and Mary Edna Boyett.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Bedgood Clary (Brent); grandchildren, Brent Clary, Jr. (Brittani), Daniel Clary (Christi), Amanda Clary Phillips (Eric); great grandchildren, Adison Clary, Caleb Clary (Madison), Kaylee Clary, Effie Clary, Trace Clary, Pearl Phillips, Colt Phillips; and her great great grandchild, Penelope Gamboa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Kirkland Baptist Church, 6304 Lynridge Avenue, Columbus 31909 or Enhabit Hospice, 7290 N Lake Drive, Columbus, 31909.
