Sadie Dixon White Obituary

AULANDER, NC - Sadie Lucille Dixon White, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Peak Resources Brookshire in Hillsborough, NC, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. As a homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her family, creating a nurturing and welcoming home. Her passion for flowers was evident in the vibrant gardens she cultivated, bringing beauty and joy to all who visited. Sadie was born on October 31, 1937 in Scotland Neck, NC to parents Andrew Dixon and Sadie Capps Dixon.

Sadie's culinary skills were unparalleled, and her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of homemade meals, prepared with love for her family and friends. She had a spirit for adventure and cherished the many trips she undertook, finding joy in discovering new places and cultures.

Above all, Sadie was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved sister. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of those she loved.

Sadie was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Joseph White, two sons, Billy, and Luke Bunting, sisters, Gladys Ezell, and Sally Baker, and a brother, Lawrence Dixon.

Sadie is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Payne of Rives, TN, three sons; Frankie Harper of Haw River, NC, Lawrence Harper of Hillsborough, NC, and Bobby Harper of Caruthersville, MO; a brother, James Dixon of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and 13 cherished grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Garrett-Sykes Aulander Chapel, 117 South Commerce St., Aulander, NC 27805. A celebration of life graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, NC.
