Sam Curtis Turner, 86, of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
He was the son of the late Joseph Felton "Buck" Turner and Myrtle Ray Turner. He was also preceded in death by his step mother, Mary Fleetwood Turner, his brother, Joseph Felton Turner, Jr. and his wife, Camilla, sisters, Lyndal Turner and Rebecca Turner Rhoads.
He was a 30 plus year member of the Jackson Fire Department and of the Jackson Rescue Squad as well as being a charter member of the Rescue Squad. He was also a member of the Jackson Lions Club and was a big supporter of his children.
He is survived by his daughters, Joella Turner Brown and her husband, John of Jackson, Myrtle Turner Earley and her husband, Randy of Garner, Sandra Turner Brannen of Jackson and his son, Sam C Curtis Turner, Jr., and his wife, Candace of Burlington; grandchildren, Lyndal Ashby White and her husband, Thadd, Parker Ray Brown and his wife, Emily, Iva Earley Nichols and her husband, Sam, Thomas Lewis Earley and his wife, Brianna, Austin Connor Brannen and his wife, Tori, William Curtis Brannen and his wife Marieliz, Lauren Rose Turner, Sam Curtis Turner, III; great grandchildren, Camden White, Alex White, Everette Brown and Baby Girl Brown; his sister, Ellen Virginia Turner Winnette and her husband, Jerry of Greensboro, brother-in-law, George Rhoads of Ellicott City, Maryland, numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northeast Academy, 210 Church Street, Lasker, NC 27845
The family held a private memorial service Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
