Born on January 4, 1975, Gene grew up in Belmont with a strong sense of family and an even stronger love for Alabama football-he was a lifelong Roll Tide fan. He played football at South Point High School, where he graduated with pride, and carried the lessons of teamwork and dedication with him throughout his life.
Gene worked faithfully at Coast International for 26 years. He was a devoted employee, respected for his commitment, integrity, and work ethic. Outside of work, he loved NASCAR, particularly Jeff Gordon, he found peace in the outdoors-whether fishing on a quiet morning or riding four-wheelers through muddy trails, Gene made the most of every moment.
More than anything, Gene loved his family. He gave generously, cared deeply, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His sense of humor, robust spirit, and strong hugs will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Eugene New III, and his brother, Michael New.
Left to carry on his memory are his mother, Teresa Tucker Williams; his stepmother, Lynn Mitchem; his brothers: Randy Williams Jr. and wife Patricia, along with their children Samantha and Mick; Bryan New and wife Brittany, and their children Braylen and Ryder; Tucker Mical; and his sisters: Taylor New, and her children Vance and Vanna, and Hanna New.
A memorial service for Gene will be held at 10:00 am Saturday July 12th, 2025 at Sparrow Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Gene Bates officiating.

Gene was a good neighbor. Spent time together at bonfires and he joined us for dinner often. He would come to the house just to check in and chat. He will be missed. Lots of memories remain!
