Sandra Leann (Brakhage) Green of Lake Preston, SD, passed away at home on June 26, 2025, at the age of 73. Visitation will at the Crawford-Osthus/Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Lake Preston, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Born on September 13, 1951, in Hutchinson, KS she spoke often of her early years living on the Seychelle islands. For higher education Sandra moved to California and attended Stanford University eventually earning a degree in business from Foothill college while also raising her two children. Years later, she relocated to Lake Preston, SD to provide hospice care for her own mother, Angelia. Sandra remained in Lake Preston to help raise her grandbaby, Heaven. In her final years she moved to Independence, MO to her son's home.
Sandra enjoyed many hobbies as well as a love for all animals. Those hobbies include photography, painting, drawing, crafting, embroidery, and making her house a home. In addition to these hobbies Sandra loved writing elaborate letters to family and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Ransom and Angelia (Olson) Brakhage of Lamar, AR, and Lake Preston, SD, respectively and by one sister, Sherian Perkins, of Oakdale, CA.
Sandra is survived by her son Brandon Proia and his husband Andrew, of Independence, MO, her daughter Lisa, of North Highlands, CA, and her grandchildren; Heaven, Lincoln, and Addy. She is also survived by one sister, Betty Steen of San Jose, CA. as well as Sandra's beloved cats: Patches, Honey, Baby, and Tiddlywinks.
