Sandra "Sandie" L. Vajda, 81 of Zanesville, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday July 17, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

She was born on May 6, 1944, in Chilhowee, Missouri, daughter of the late Harold E. Phelps and LaVena (Kruse) Phelps. Sandra was methodist by faith. She worked in Sales as a manager of Party Supply Shop in Utah for several years. She enjoyed traveling to gun shows and buying/ selling antiques.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Steven E. Vajda; 2 children: Dana (Bruce) Edgell and David (Ann) Bly; sister: Diana Martin; 6 grandchildren: Rebecca Bly, Robert Bly, Jacob (Jessica) Edgell, Dustin Edgell, Talon Edgell, and Bradyn Edgell; 3 great grandchildren: Ryatt, Bonnie, Zander Edgell; and special dog, Mogie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 2 brothers: Harold Phelps Jr. and Larry Allen Phelps; and 2 sisters: Lisa K. Phelps and Karen (Terry) Simpson.

Per Sandra's wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.
