Sara McDowell Nichols, 81, of Lewisburg, TN, died in Columbia, TN, Thursday, July 31, 2025 after a two-month fight with cancer. She is a past resident of Franklin and Culleoka, TN.

Sara was a devoted and adoring wife to her husband Bobby, who preceded her in death in 2020, and a caring and supportive mother to her son Judson and his wife Robin (Knoxville). She is also survived by her nephew, David (Libby) McDowell, nieces Nancye (Bob) Hager and Janet (Kevin) Wright, an array of beloved cousins, her cat Zoey, and all of her Lindas. She is preceded in death by too many friends and family who loved her and were loved in return.

Sara was a fiercely protective woman of those she loved. A woman of great moderation, she was religious without being evangelical, private without being closed, and meticulous without being harsh. She was compassionate of spirit, perceptive of mind, and generous of heart. She was everything one could ask of a wife, mother, aunt, and friend. Her family will always miss her.

Visitation will be held at London Funeral Home, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery.

London Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Judson and family, I am saddened by Sara´s passing but holding on to all the great memories of this sweetheart of a lady. Bobby and Sara were a great couple that treated me as family and I´ll never forget. I´m thankful that God now has them both in heaven.
