Sarah "Lulu" Loper was born August 30, 1966 in Vivian La. She passed away peacefully at the age of 58 under the care of Heritage Hospice at Christus St. Michael in Atlanta on July 6, 2025 after a lengthy illness. We take joy in the fact there is no more pain and no more suffering for Sarah. Today she is doing what she loved, she is now walking through the most beautiful garden in Heaven, hand in hand with her dear Mother. What a joyous reunion that must be. To everyone, she was Sarah, but for most of us she will always be our "LULU".

Sarah married her husband, Bryan Loper June 1, 2009. They have been long-time residents of Atlanta, TX. They enjoyed their time taking short trips to the mountains in Arkansas. Mostly, they were just happy at home working in the yard and taking care of their fur babies, Willie Nelson, Maxamus, and Rome. Sarah was a loving wife, devoted mother and the best MeMe anyone could ask for. She loved her sweet little Rowdy. She always had a story to tell about him. Sarah had a smile that would light up any room and a laugh that was to be remembered by everyone. She was a kind and gentle person who would give anything she could to anyone in need. She brought joy and happiness to everyone she met.

Sarah loved gardening. Flowers were her happy place. She spent most of her days in the spring in her greenhouse potting and planting and making sure everything was ready for their specific place she had picked out for Bryan to plant them when it was time. She had a passion for hand-knitting chunky yarn blankets. She would go to farmers' markets and festivals and sell what she could and what she didn't; she made sure her family and friends had one in their favorite color and pattern. Sarah was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. She always put her faith and trust in God and knew his will would be done when her journey with this illness began. She was at peace with whatever he decided for her.

She is preceded in Death by her Mother Sarah Shelton of Atlanta, TX. Father-in-law Otis Loper of Atlanta TX, as well as her "Daddy" Max Cornelius of Vivian La.

Survivors include husband, Bryan Loper of Atlanta; son, Josh Jester and daughter-in-law, Malana of McLeod, TX; daughter, Stephanie Jester of Linden, Tx; father, Michael Hartsell and wife Donna of Atlanta, Tx; mother-in-law, Joyce Loper of Atlanta Tx; brother, Phillip Cornelius of Shreveport, La; sisters, Diane Mock of Shreveport La and Patricia Mussett of Florien, La; grandsons, Rowdy Jester of Mcleod and Harley Reed of College Station Tx; granddaughter, Taylor Roach and husband Landon of Houston Tx; bonus son, Zachary Loper of Bullard Tx; great granddaughter, Paisley Roach of Houston Tx; stepfather, Glen Shelton of Bloomberg.

There were so many people that loved her and she had special relationships with, especially her cousin Donna Hutto of Longview as well as her "mom" in law Joyce Loper, who was such a wonderful help to her, whether it be taking her to chemo or fixing dinner for them or just being there to hold her hand.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2025 at Hanner Funeral Service, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., and graveside services at Smyrna Cemetery, Atlanta, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Josh Jester, Phillip Hall, Donny Helmer, Tracy Davis, Dan Bradshaw and Ryan Caudle.

The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice and the nurses at Christus St. Michael Atlanta for all of the care and the kindness she received as well as the Family.
