Sergio Jaime Martinez, 56, of Denver City, Texas, went home to be with the Lord peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones on June 30, 2025, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
He was born on August 24, 1968 in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose Emilio Martinez and Adela Gutierrez.
Sergio was a devout Catholic man and a proud, active member of St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church. He enjoyed his free time outside of the oil patch with his grandkids, family, and screaming at the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays. Sergio built the pathway to a strong and successful, 34-year career in the oilfield patch in West Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. He was always a hardworking man and enjoyed building and sharing about his relationships with his employees, customers, and vendors. He enjoyed sharing stories of his struggles, travels, and youth experiences any chance he got so one would know he didn't have it easy and that he worked hard to get to where he was. If he was telling you a story, it would always be a teaching experience so that you wouldn't struggle and find an easier way to "Getter' Done"!
Sergio is survived by his wife, Lluvia; his 3 children, JoeRaymond Martinez, Olimpia Martinez and her Husband, Osmar Gutierrez, and Destiney Diaz and her Husband, Marquez Garcia; his 4 grandchildren, Santos, Emilio, Levi, and Baby Girl Gutierrez, all of Denver City, Texas; his siblings, Esteban Martinez, Andres Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Maria Hidalgo, Elsa Gonzalez, and Hilario Gomez.
Sergio was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Emilio Martinez and Adela Martinez, his Stepfather, Ramon Gomez; his brothers, Juan Martinez, Jose Carlos Martinez, Julio Gomez, Crispin Gomez, Ventura Gomez, Pedro Gomez I, Modesto Gomez, Guadalupe Gomez, and Pedro Gomez II; His Grandparents Maria Santos Perez and Jesus Gutierrez.
He will be remembered always for having a great personality with anyone who encountered him in the community or in the oilfield setting. He was a man with the belief of if he had God, his family, and friends alongside him with another day of work that meant he was the richest man alive. If he ever gave you a hard time as a customer, it was to make you smile or to teach you a lesson after making you doubt yourself, followed by a burrito and a "I was just making sure you knew what you were selling me!"
Visitation will be Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Friday, July 4, 2025, from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at St. William Vercelli Center in Denver City, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. William Vercelli Center on Saturday, July 05, 2025, followed by interment at Denver City Memorial Park.
The family asks for those who are joining in attendance to wear Dallas Cowboys colors/attire to celebrate our "Boys" on his last ride.
