Shannon Rodrigues Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2025.
Shannon McCain "Rod" Rodrigues a resident of Marshall, AR was born August 15, 1969, in West Monroe, La, pride and joy of Purvis "Spud" and Mildred Louise Rodrigues. He passed from this life on July 2nd at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR after suffering a cardiac event.

Rod left a hole that cannot be filled. He had many jobs over the years, including running a sawmill, running a convenience store and pizza place, and running and cooking at the Marshall Restaurant. He loved cooking for people and visiting with people. His most cherished job was being a Registered Nurse, first at Baxter Regional, then Emergency Room Nurse at Ozark Health, Emergency Room manager at Ozark Health, and Home Health Nurse. He loved every nursing capacity, and his patients. His coworkers were family. He loved helping new nurses get started. He had a healing touch, and a unique ability to give people peace. He loved fishing, hunting and all things guns. He cherished his children and checked on them daily, but his most favorite role ever was being papa Rod. His grandbabies never left his house without at least one Little Debbie Cake or Reese's cup. He loved Jesus, believed He was the son of God, and had accepted Him as Lord and Savior. He loved his Welcome Home Church family. He loved the people of the Yucatan, and getting to combine his love and skill in nursing on medical mission trips.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Purvis (Pete) and Jessie Earnestine Rodrigues, maternal grandparents Otha and Annie Lee Newman SR, mother and father-in-law William and Annette Beasley Dickens, Uncle Otha "Sonny" Newman Jr, and infant Nephew Roper Briar Rodrigues.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 33 years Angie Dickens Rodrigues of the home, Daughters: Megan McCaw (William) of Santee, SC, Jessie Lorene Cecil (Aaron) of Harrison, AR, Kayla Nicole Passmore (Cooner) of Snowball, AR, Pepper Hayley Hambrick (William) of Marshall, AR, and Son Tucker McCain Rodrigues of Flippin, AR. Grandchildren: Zachary Buquoi, Kaylee Brooke Passmore, Callie Rose Passmore, Oakley Kate Passmore, Walker Lane Hambrick, Raylan Boothe Hambrick, Willa Carol Hambrick and Owen Holland Hambrick. His Parents Purvis and Mildred Rodrigues of West Monroe, LA, his sisters: Melissa Perez (Joseph), Pamela Boswell (Joey), Tammy Lambert, Aleshia Welch, Niece Harley Hoffman (Trevor), Niece Grace Perez, Uncle Buddy and Aunt Martha Sullivan, Aunt Sandy Newman, Uncle Ward and Aunt Miriam, Uncle Dennis and Aunt Becky Sullins, and Sister-in-Law Sonya Arender (George). Funeral services for Rod will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 8th, 2025 at Welcome Home Church in Welcome Home, Arkansas with Bro. Roy Ragland, Bro. Brian Ragland and Bro. Clayton Lesley officiating.
