She was born in Dearborn, Michigan on July 15, 1937. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Paddock and Nancy (Dan) Street and son James (Nicole) Mahoney; Brother, Jeffrey Brandenburg; Grandchildren, Gordon (Hillary) Wallace, Liza Schramm, Joseph (Christina) Paddock, Dusty Paddock, Bridgette Beck, Haley (Jake) Sexton, Conner Street, Logan (Matthew) Johnson, Liam Mahoney, Patrick Mahoney, and Katherine Mahoney; Great-grandchildren, Cougar Wallace, Olivia (Taylor) Woodcock, Hunter Schramm, Cody Schramm, Colin Schramm, Tanner Schramm, Chloe Schramm, Zane Paddock, Ella Paddock, Chad Fletcher, Ava Fletcher, and Max Beck.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Ethel Brandenburg, husband James Mahoney, daughter, Colleen Mischloney, and her sisters Virginia Serra and Joanne Seeling and brother, "Dutch" Brandenburg.
Known for her big heart, her door was always open and her #1 hobby was her family... and not just her immediate family but also her close relationships with her dozens of nieces and nephews who knew "Aunt Sharon" was always there for them. She also had a very large "adopted family" including, neighbors from Golf Manor, the many friends of her children and her beloved dog Lucy. We will fondly remember times spent at Disney World, playing "just one more" slot machine in Las Vegas, and road tripping in every compass direction - she was always up for adventure. She was our glue and she will be missed immensely.
Sharon lived a full life of unconditional love, strength, and stoic resilience. She leaves behind a far-reaching legacy that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2040 South Commerce Rd., Walled Lake, Thursday at 12 noon, with a luncheon to follow the service. There is a visitation for friends and family at the church from 11 AM until time of service. Donations to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org) appreciated.

Mrs. Mahoney will be remembered in our hearts as one of the sweetest, kindest ladies we had the privilege of being neighbors with. She watched our children grow up and I always enjoyed talking with her and seeing her smiling face. We will miss her.
