Sharon Louise Rass, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, after a ten-month fight with pancreatic cancer. Born on April 23, 1950, in Algoma, Wisconsin, to the late Melvin and Rose (Thiry) Gilson. Sharon lived a life filled with joy, love, and cherished moments shared with those she held dear. Sharon married her husband Ken Rass on May 9, 1970, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco.
Sharon worked for most of her life at KI. She had a strong work ethic and a steadfast devotion to her family and friends. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. From going thrifting, shopping, playing cards and indulging in family trips to Disney in Florida to spontaneous rides followed by ice cream, Sharon treasured every moment spent with loved ones.
She is survived by her beloved spouse, Ken Rass; daughter, Mindy Rass; granddaughter, Abby (Zach) Evers; sisters, Dianne Massart, Joanne Blahnik, Mary Anne (Dennis) Lockstein; brother, Melvin (Mary) Gilson Jr.; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Gilson; mother-in-law, Marie Rass; in-laws, Neale (Mary) Rass, and Jody (Colleen) Rass; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marney Rass; parents, Melvin and Rose Gilson; brothers, Donald Gilson, Allen (Audrey) Gilson, Gary (Patricia) Gilson, Leonal Gilson, Wayne Gilson, infant siblings; brother-in-law, Jim Blahnik; father-in-law, Edwin Rass; in-laws, Monte, Neal, and Jane Rass; as well as by a niece and a nephew.
A visitation will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services in Casco from 3:00-6:00 pm, with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Francis / St. Mary Catholic Church in Brussels on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am with Fr. Antonio Rex Palaya officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
