Sharon L. Wilson, age 78, of Murphy, NC, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025. Born in Sarasota, FL, on October 23, 1946, Sharon spent much of her life in Murphy, where she became a beloved member of her community and cherished by her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, David Wilson; daughters, Kim Wilson, Kelly Risley and husband Arnold; daughter-in-law, Marla Wilson; and her cherished grandchildren, Noah, Easton, and Willow. She is also survived by her sister, Becky Reszke; brother, John Zeigler and wife Judy; as well as sister-in-laws, Barbara Duncan and Barbara Wilson, and brother-in-law, Wayne Wilson. Sharon is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lowell Zeigler, and son, Christopher Wilson.
Growing up, Sharon had a deep love for music and was proud to be part of her school band. Music remained a cherished part of her life, and she passed on her appreciation for it to those around her. Above all, Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren. She found joy in watching them succeed and grow, and nothing brought her more happiness than playing games of UNO with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Whether cheering them on from the sidelines, watching musical performances or sharing quiet moments together, her pride and love for them were immeasurable. Sharon was also known for her unwavering dedication to her family, especially through the countless hours she spent keeping the scorebook at her daughters' sporting events. Her involvement in her community, particularly through her love of crafting with her sister Becky, brought people together and left a lasting impact.
Sharon's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
At this time, no service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the band program at Rugby Middle School (? Sean Smith, 3345 Haywood Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28791).
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Sharon and I went to school at Riverview high school and I lived in Murphy North Carolina for 18 years. I met Sharon by accident in a local store a number of years ago. She was a welcomed addition to Murphy. My best to her children and husband. I know she will be missed.

We have known Sharon for 60+ years, in school in Sarasota, Florida, and then here in North Carolina. We bought a couple of her beautifully crafted aprons for our young granddaughter. We´re so very sorry for this terrible loss for the family and for all of us who knew and loved her.
