Shawn Duncan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 5, 2024.
Our beloved, Shawn Michael Duncan, 53, of Fort Lupton, Colorado, left this life to be with Jesus on November 26th, 2024 after a long and courageous three year battle with cancer. Shawn had a steady, secure, and quiet faith. '

Shawn was born on January 8, 1971, in Grand Island, Nebraska to Ron and Jan Duncan, where he spent his younger years becoming an Eagle Scout and participating in sports like cross country. For his Eagle Scout project, he built a sod house that stood for just under a decade at Stuhr Museum. Following high school, Shawn joined the Army National Guard and was active duty during Desert Storm. Shortly after his tour, he moved to Colorado where he worked his way to being a commercial electrical foreman. He was skilled in every aspect it took to be a leader in his trade.

At the turn of the millennium, Shawn fell in love with and married Megan (Fandry, Nienhueser). In 2001, they had their daughter Madison and adopted Kristian shortly after. Shawn loved spending time with family and friends. He loved to play board games, bake, grill, and camp. He enjoyed shooting his guns, hunting, traveling, and was always looking for a new favorite craft brewery.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Megan; his daughter, Madison (23); his granddaughters, Amelia Rae (11), Ariah Fae (8), and Landyn Sue (2); his father, Ron Duncan; his sister, Lisa (Duncan) and Dustin Butler; his nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.

Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Jan Duncan; his daughter, Kristian; and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1st Street Christian Church in Fort Lupton, Colorado, on Thursday, December 12th at 11 am.
