Sheila Ward, born on June 13, 1969, in Saint Paul, MN, left us on July 2, 2025, leaving a void that could only be filled by her generous spirit and resilient heart. Sheila, a cherished daughter, sibling, mother, grandmother, and companion, built her life around love, humor, and an unwavering faith. Her hobbies were as diverse as her personality-fishing, gardening, cooking, and making the holiday season, especially Christmas, a special time for her family. Though she faced personal struggles, these challenges never eclipsed her radiant spirit or her love for her family.
Sheila was a beacon of light, her humor brightening the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious laughter and sharp wit made every gathering a joyous occasion, her stories were the stuff of legends, and her kindness provided solace when most needed. She was a devoted homemaker, creating a sanctuary filled with love and laughter for those she held dear. She resided in Starbuck, Minnesota, but her journey in this world also led her to Inver Grove Heights and Woodbury.
Sheila's faith was a guiding light in her life. As a Christian, she believed in the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our salvation. Her faith was as resilient as her spirit; it was the foundation upon which she built her life. The verse from the Book of John 16:22, "So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy," resonates with her beliefs. She has moved on to a place free from pain, free from suffering, and filled with enduring love.
Sheila is survived by her loving mother, Barbara Ward; her children, Stephanie (Daniel) Rios and Darren Ward; her siblings, Kelly (Jim) Ward and Phillip Ward; her significant other, Jon Anderson and his sons, Jesse and Cody; and her beloved grandchildren, Danny, Mariano, Marcos, Jade, and Autumn. She was preceded in death by her father, Stuart Ward, and her grandparents, James and Sarah Ward.
A funeral service to celebrate Sheila's life will be held on TUESDAY, July 8, 2025, at 11:00 am at the HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, located at 671 S. Snelling Avenue, Saint Paul, MN. We invite all who knew and loved Sheila to share in this celebration of her life.
Please share your memories, stories, and photographs of Sheila on her memorial page. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and your shared memories will provide comfort and solace during this difficult time.
