Shel was a man of many talents and interests. His career at Columbia Gas was marked by his ability to do it all, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. A proud veteran, Shel served his country honorably in the United States Army, and he continued his commitment to fellow servicemen and women as a dedicated member of American Legion Post 52.
An avid animal lover, Shel shared his home with many faithful canine companions over the years, currently Bogey and Birdie, who brought him endless joy. He pursued an active lifestyle, finding camaraderie and competition on the golf course, in the bowling alley, and through his love of fast pitch softball. Shel's passion for sports was matched by his dedication to his community, as a former member of the Forest Hill Community Association, and current member of the Great Stone Viaduct and the Sons of Italy in Bellaire.
