Shena Day departed this life on March 15, 2025, at the age of 63. She was born to Dorothy Sylvester Dusset and Wilce Day Sr. at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, Louisiana on September 19,1961. She received Christ in her life at an early age and was baptized at First New Zion Travelers Baptist Church in New Orleans. She graduated from John F Kennedy High School in 1979 and joined the United States Army in 1981 where she served her country honorably and was honorably discharged. She pursued a secondary education at Southern University of New Orleans, Charity School of Nursing, and Delgado Community College. Shena had a passion for helping others and was a certified nursing assistant for many years. She was proceded in death by her parents Mrs. Dorothy Sylvester Dusset and Mr. Wilce Day Sr, two brothers; Richard Dusset, Diamond L Dusset, two sisters; Dorothy D Gusman and Laverne Day. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted longtime companion Silas Lucky, one brother; Freddie L Dusset, five sisters; Sylvia D Joseph, Ingrid D Harris, Judea D Frazier, Cathy A Dusset, Patsy D. Barnes, a devoted cousin/ sister Vanessa F Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 29, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Mentuer Hwy, New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Senior Pastor DeAndre Grandberry of Miracle Baptist Cathedral, officiating. A Private Interment will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025.
