Born on June 29, 1956, in Coldwater, Michigan, Sherri was a beacon of kindness and creativity throughout her life. She was a dedicated art teacher for K-12 for 16 years and an active participant in the Landmark Forum community, as a registration manager, where she inspired many with her enthusiasm and visionary outlook. Her artistic talents were not confined to the classroom; she was also an avid artist who enjoyed painting, skiing, biking, and traveling, always seeking new experiences and landscapes to capture in her art. This summer, she had an exhibit at Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater, Michigan of her artwork.
A graduate of Coldwater High School, Sherri furthered her education at Miami University, obtaining her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Masters of Art with focus on methodology, education and emphasis in metals which laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.
Sherri's spirit of generosity extended beyond human connections to the natural world, which she cherished deeply. An environmental advocate, she supported initiatives like 2030 or Bust, working tirelessly to leave the planet better than she found it.
Survivors include her two children Megan (Justin) Focke of Venice, Florida and Joe Focke of Indianapolis, Indiana; her partner Tom Carson and friend Mary Salt Lake City, Utah; her siblings Gary (Pam) Havens of Panama City, Florida and Vicki (Todd) Manning of Girard; her grandchild Anna Focke Venice, Florida; Her nieces and nephews Jon and Steven Manning, Holly (Will) Glossop and Andrew (Joey) Havens; and her beloved dog Baby. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Glyn Dee and Gwen Havens and her aunt and uncle, Molly and Hal Johnson.

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
