Benson, NC: Mrs. Sherry Lynn Simpson, age 56, of Ryals Street passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. A Memorial Service will be held-3:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Elevation Methodist Church in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Donald Sadler. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Mrs. Simpson was born on December 24, 1968 in Alamance County to the late Floyd Judd and Linda Sue Whittington Smith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Judd Smith, Jr. Mrs. Simpson was a friend to everyone she met and loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her children, Matthew Harley Smith and partner, Tiffany and Summer Lynn Jackson; grandchildren, London, Madilynn, and Ryley; brothers, Robert Clayton Smith and wife, Flor, William Austin Smith and wife, Joyce, and Larry Wayne Smith and wife, Denise; sister, Kimberly Smith Wood and husband, Randy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
