Sherry Watkins, age 66, passed away on June 23, 2025, in her home in Hartville surrounded by her family. She was born July 14, 1958 as one of six children to the late Stillman and Elsie (Frame) Gaskins and graduated from Tallmadge High School and then attended The University of Akron. She married her high school sweetheart, Kim, on June 14, 1980, and they recently celebrated 45 years married together. Sherry spent time at home raising her children and then began a career in the local chocolate industry, starting at Harry London Chocolate and in various roles at Waggoner Chocolates in North Canton. She cherished her family and especially enjoyed all the adventurous trips they took across the country. A few highlights of those trips are their visits to Yosemite National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and annual beach trips to the Carolinas. She loved sewing, quilting, and crafting. Sherry also enjoyed tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Kim Watkins; children Christopher Watkins, Jonathan (Savanah) Watkins, Amy (Matthew) Nathaniel, and Travis (Jesica) Watkins; grandchildren Allison, Charlie, Brooklyn, Claire, Owen, Theo, and Adelena; siblings Gary (Mary) Gaskins, Terry (Linda) Gaskins, Janice (Dale) Gemind, Cheryl (Mike) Leek, and Janeen Osborne; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at Evermore Community Church in Hartville. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM in the church with Pastor Ross Miller and Pastor Butch Nisly officiating. Final resting place is Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville.
