Aunt Shirley and uncle Wayne were a big part of my childhood years. Every summer, my parents would pack me off to the farm. Aunt Shirley, Uncle Wayne, Lisa, and Joy would wait for me at the airport terminal and give me the biggest hugs on arrival. White castle was always the next stop! I´ll never forget those years of riding in the backseat with my cousins on the way to the farm. Goofing around making lots of noise. I am an only child so the Bracken´s were the closest thing to siblings I had. They made my formative years special. Aunt Shirley was a surrogate mother to me during those many summers and I never properly thanked her for those memories. So thank you Aunt Shirley! And thank you Uncle Wayne. It´s no small task to watch someone else´s child for months at a time. It shows the love she had for her family. I don´t have many pictures of that time with them because I was a child , cell phones were not a thing yet, but the pictures I do have bring very fond memories. I remember aunt Shirley being very calm, levelheaded, and very tolerant of the chaos we brought as children. She allowed us to be the kids we were. I will miss her with all my heart, as I miss her children, Lisa and Joy. My small family is getting smaller, which makes me appreciate each member all the more. She is with her brother, my Grandpa Bill, and her children that I know she missed every day of her living life. May it bring her peace and joy to be reunited, after all these many years, in heaven. We will meet again Aunt Shirley. But until then, know you will be missed. Love you.
