Shirley Ann (Albright) Coon of Winona, Missouri, was born on October 1, 1935, on her grandparent's farm in Janesville Township, Rock County, Wisconsin, to Clifford and Lreetha (Snyder) Albright. She passed away on June 15, 2025, in Mountain View, Missouri.
Shirley attended a one-room country school and graduated from Janesville High School in 1953. She attended Whitewater University in Wisconsin. She married Donald Coon on September 4, 1954, in Janesville, Wisconsin. They lived in Delavan, Wisconsin, until 1984, when they moved to Winona, Missouri.
Shirley liked to garden and plant flowers. She grew up roller skating and continued into adulthood and attained several awards, including a Gold Star. After moving to Missouri, she became a substitute teacher. Shirley and Don liked living in the Mark Twain National Forest with the woods and all the birds, flowers, and forest animals; it was like having a huge garden as a part of their lives. Recently, they have lived at Mountain View Healthcare Center in Mountain View, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Don Coon; children, Teresa Carel of Winona, MO, Brian Coon of Delavan, WI, Annalisa Coon of Hollister, MO, and Angie Amundson of Tomahawk, WI; one sister, Marilyn Bickle of Janesville, WI; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and foster parent to thirty-nine children.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister, Alice Clark.
No services are planned. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.

Shirley is my first cousin. When we were growing up I spent many summer days at her country home with her and her sisters. We climbed around in the farm buildings and caught the chickens and dressed them in doll clothes and pushed them around in a doll buggy. I also went to her one room school with her at times. I Am so happy for these memories. My name is Barbara (Phillips) Werner.
