Shirley A. Funneman, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Teutopolis on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to Fear Nothing.
Shirley was born December 18, 1933 in Dieterich, the daughter of Joseph and Hilda (Koelling) Bushue. She married William "Bill" Funneman on October 18, 1958. Shirley was a bus driver for over 30 years with the Teutopolis School District, and many of the students who rode with her still say she was one of the best.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Karen (Stan) Schutte of Stewardson and Kayla (Jeff) Hemmen of Teutopolis; sons, Dennis (Tress) of Elliotstown and Terry (Barb) of Teutopolis; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy; brothers, Everett Bushue, Wilbur Pokey, Norman Pokey, Vernon Pokey, Wayne Bushue and sister, Eunice Lidy.
Shirley's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers-Sabrina, Tasha, and Anita-as well as to Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
