Robert "Bob" Carmichael Jr. went to his heavenly home on October 14th, 2025, at Camden Clark Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was born August 4th, 1952, in Parkersburg, WV.
A son of the late Robert Ray Carmichael Sr. and Mary Allen Carmichael, he was preceded in death by two of his beloved children, Robert "Bobby" Carmichael III and Sara Carmichael Casto, as well as his sister, Linda Carmichael Pursley.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 54 years, Mohelia "Mopie" Carmichael; daughter, Vicki Carmichael Pickens; grandchildren, Bethany Pickens Hammond, Nathaniel Casto, and Brody Pickens; great-grandchild, Lucas Hammond; as well as his siblings, Clair, Beverly, and Tim.
Bob graduated from Ripley High School in 1970 and worked for Hope Gas for 36 years.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. During his illness, his precious dog Babe never left his side.
Per his wishes, his body is to be donated to West Virginia University for research.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Bud McVey officiating. A time of visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
