Shirley Jameson passed away July 7, 2025, after living a fulfilling life. She was born in Monticello, Utah, July 15, 1947, to parents Oscar and Dorothy Redd Jameson. She was one of the first babies born in the Monticello hospital. Her early years were spent in LaSal, Utah, along with her siblings. When she was ten years old, the family moved to Provo, Utah. Shirley, the middle of seven children, was the "glue" of the family. Throughout her life she would plan activities and get-togethers to keep relationships strong. She also had a great ability to make everyone feel like they were important to her.
Shirley graduated from Provo High School in 1965. She held several jobs in Provo, mostly in the insurance field, including State Farm and Wiseman Insurance. After six years with Wiseman, Shirley took a position with Deseret Federal Savings, transferring to the Salt Lake City office after two years.
Shirley returned to Provo in 1983 to care for her parents' home while they served a mission, but she moved back to Salt Lake after they returned home. After the company closed in 1990, Shirley moved back to Provo and began working at DHI computing where she was still employed when she passed.
Shirley enjoyed making life more beautiful and enjoyable for others, particularly her family.
She loved working in the garden, planting flowers and creating areas of beauty and peace. She kept an immaculate home, and she loved decorating for the various seasons and holidays in meaningful ways. She loved the color red, bunny rabbits, University of Utah basketball, listening to uplifting music, and shopping–especially buying gifts for others.
Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and she developed a close relationship with God throughout her life. She served in many capacities in the Church, and she was a remarkable minister because she always tried to think of others. She took opportunities to express her love for her Father, and she shared her spiritual insights with many family members and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Mary Campbell. She is survived by five siblings, Robert (Jolene) Jameson, Virginia Baxter, Redd (Joy) Jameson, Karen (Tim) Risher, and Colleen Wells. She is also survived by 101 nieces, nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, at the Lindon Utah West Stake Center at 250 W 600 S in Lindon, UT. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the funeral service from 11:00 to 12:00. Dedication of the grave will be held at the Provo City Cemetery at 2:30.
