Shirley Mae Johnson

March 18, 1929 - July 23, 2025

Shirley Mae Morgan Johnson was born March 18, 1929, in Portland, OR and passed away on July 23, 2025, at home in Belleville, WI. She graduated from Cleveland High School, Portland and attended Oregon State University. She married Elvin J "Bud" Johnson at Ross Hollywood Chapel in Portland on November 17, 1951. She and Bud moved several times as they answered the call to serve in the ministry of the Apostolic Faith Church of Portland, OR. They lived in San Francisco, Minneapolis (twice), Kansas City, Honolulu and Yakima, WA. They had two children, Rick and Lonna. In 1984 they returned to Portland to finish out their lives of service to the Lord and their church.

She met the love of her life, Elvin "Bud" Johnson and they were married at Ross Hollywood Chapel in Portland on November 17, 1951. She and Bud desired to serve their Lord and their church and moved several times; to San Francisco, Minneapolis (twice), Kansas City, Honolulu, Yakima (WA). They had two children, Rick and Lonna. In 1984 they returned to Portland and served in various capacities for the next 20+ years.

After Bud passed in 2007 Shirley continued to be an asset to her church community for several more years before moving to Belleville, WI to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was active and sharp until the last several days of her life.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Richard S. Morgan and Myrtle L. Dailey Morgan; her brother, Norman Morgan; her sister, Sibyl Morgan Proske; her grand-daughter and hero, Jessica Lynn Johnson and her niece, Sally J. Morgan. She is survived by her son, Rick E. Johnson (wife, Cindy and her children, Cody and Kale); daughter, Elonna Sue Johnson Eckhardt (husband, Siggi); nephews: Kenneth Proske, John Morgan, Joel Morgan and Craig Morgan; nieces: Karen Proske Schlesser, Sharon Proske Luka, Kathleen Proske Powell and Janelle Proske Beck and many other extended family.
